Claire Gardent : member of the Académie des sciences
Loria extends its warmest congratulations to Claire Gardent, Research Director at Loria, who has been elected a member of the French Académie des sciences !
On January 8, 2026, the French Académie des sciences announced the election of Claire Gardent as an academician in the “sciences mécaniques et informatiques” section. Claire Gardent, Research Director at Loria (1) (Lorraine Laboratory for Research in Computer Science and its Applications, CNRS/University of Lorraine), specializes in Natural Language Processing (NLP). Her work focuses on automatic text generation, the verbalization of structured data, document simplification, and the production of multilingual texts. A recipient of the CNRS Silver Medal and nominated as an ACL Fellow in 2022, she currently heads the ENACT Chair on the semantic fidelity of large conditional language models, a major initiative for more reliable and inclusive AI.
