Tim Kuipers (Netherlands) will be our invited speakers. He will give a talk on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 16H00 in room A008.
Tim Kuipers is a software engineer working on path planning for 3D printing at Ultimaker, a manufacturer of desktop / concrete floor FDM 3D printers. He started a PhD trajectory 2 years ago at the Delft University of Technology which is aimed on physicalizing heterogeneous model properties – everywhere from varying surface colors to varying stiffness throughout the print.
On Thursday 19 September he will present his latest work “CrossFill: Foam Structures with Graded Density for Continuous Material Extrusion” which utilizes a space-filling surface to enforce continuous extrusion of print paths along each layer.
