SUMMARY:Soutenance de thèse : Franco Terranova (équipe Resist)
\n\n\nVulgarized :\nDigital infrastructures are becoming increasingly complex\, and their evolution is accompanied by a growing number of vulnerabilities exploitable by cyber attackers. However\, not all vulnerabilities present the same level of risk: a weakness can become critical when it enables the compromise of essential components within a networked system.\nThis thesis investigates how artificial intelligence\, and more specifically reinforcement learning\, can contribute to understanding and anticipating attack strategies in deployed networks and applications. The work introduces realistic simulation environments and scalable learning methods to identify critical attack paths. These paths enable vulnerability prioritization based on their contextual impact rather than their severity alone. Finally\, the thesis presents mechanisms for integrating these results into operational contexts.
