Welcome aboard! Meet Martin Vassor, new member of the Mosel-Veridis team

29 January 2025

Every year, Loria’s teams strengthen with the arrival of new researchers and associate professors. We welcome them and invite you to take a few minutes to learn about their careers and projects!

Martin Vassor, a formal methods specialist, has recently joined the Université de Lorraine as a new Associate Professor. Since September 2024, he has been conducting his research within Loria’s Mosel-Veridis team and teaches at the École des Mines de Nancy.

During his student years, he worked on problems related to reversibility in concurrent computation, configuration of concurrent systems, and session types. He is currently interested in reversibility problems in which session types could be used to avoid certain bugs, such as deadlocks.

Born in Haute-Savoie, his career has included periods at the EPFL (Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausane), the ENS in Paris, the Inria center in Grenoble, the Imperial College in London, and the Oxford University. After a 3-year post-doctorate in England, he returns to France to settle in Nancy.

Find out more about his career and research in this podcast (only available in French-speaking version).
