Projects

With some collegues we have an INRIA project algorithms for the grid going.
My personal research interests are arround
  • models, algorithms and implementations that handle graphs on Coarse Grained Multicomputers, with new model PRO and our library parXXL,
  • distributed locking strategies and interfaces, data handover (DHO) and ordered read-write locks (ORWL),
  • and standard conformaning programming in modern C, aka C99, with the preprocessor toolbox P99.

Email

Spam:
For good reasons, the email account above is filtered by a rigourous spam filter, SpamAssasin. Mail ``for me'' that is filtered out that way is simply destroyed. This filter does a pretty good job but as with all of these tools, there is a small probability of false positives. I apologize to anybody whos ``real'' mail doesn't make it through.
Netiquette:
The reasons for such a false positive can be varying but usually this is a poor mail installation at your side combined with some other indications, such as html only mail, no subject header, LARGE AMOUNT OF TEXT IN ONLY CAPITALS, and other things that are against netiquette. If you have the impression that I didn't reply to a mail of yours although I should try to send me a very simple mail, that has text only contents and a clear and precise subject line.
Internships:
Please also note that I receive a lot of unsolicited internship (engineering, master, thesis …) requests. These request vary largely in quality — ranging from simple spam to well structured and elaborated proposals. In general I will only reply to those requests for which I see a real interest for both, my research group and for the student. So please don't insist, if you didn't get a reply on such a request.
Chain letters:
And, last but not least, for those that have been rejected by the spam filter, and that still remember the good old days where junk mail mainly were chain letters, Hans' parody on is still my favourite one...
