What is DViz?

DViz is a research project conducted by researchers (from the project Alice) and engineers at Inria Lorraine in the scope of the CPER with Région Lorraine. We provide high performance hardware and software solutions for parallel and remote visualization on PC clusters. Basically, our goal is to aggregate the power of multiple graphics accelerators (i.e. GPU) and make them available to any graphics application as one "big" GPU. DViz allows to multiply available graphics memory (to store larger 2D or 3D textures), geometry fill rate (to display more polygons), pixel fill rate (to display faster or with better quality), output resolution (high resolution display) or number of outputs (display walls, CAVE, ...). Moreover, DViz is fully scalable, which means that you can add more nodes when your problems become bigger.
